Hello to everybody again, I changed my crank sensor for a genuine GM one today and the car ran sweetly for about 8 hours before suffering a complete loss of power with the engine management light flashing. I managed to get home (just) with almost no power and the car runs very badly on idle and then stalls. I'm getting the following codes:-
0170 fuel trim malfunction bank 1
0173 fuel trim malfunction bank 2
I had these anyway and I'm pretty sure I need a new MAF sensor, not too worried about that, but since today, I've also got these:-
0335 crank position A cicuit malfunction
0300 multiple misfire detected
0306 cyl 6 misfire detected
0302 cyl 2 misfire detected
0304 cyl 4 misfire detected
0155 O2 sensor heater circuit low voltage (bank 2 sensor 1)
It's obviously one bank of cylinders causing a problem ( coil pack?) but why would I get a crank position error with a new sensor and what does 0155 mean?

Did you route the wire on the crank sensor correctly, away from the exhaust? :(

I tied it as far away from the exhaust as I could on the inner wing, couldn't get it down past the back of the engine. It doesn't seem to be heat damaged at all

If it is the crank sensor, could it have caused all this, or is something else going wrong by coincidence?

To update on this, I reconnected the old crank sensor today (one which I knew was working to some degree) and the misfire is the same, so at least I know I haven't cooked the new one!
Anyone know what steps I can take next?

I would say a new crank sensor mate

I don't think it's the crank sensor this time, the old one which i reconnected today used to work as long as the engine was cold but would not start if the engine was hot. The misfire is exactly the same with both sensors, so I think something else has gone, but I don't know enough about these engines to know what. Could always try a new one again but don't fancy shelling out another 50 quid if it's something else. Is there anything else it could be?

I would still say that its the sensor, But I would wait and see if you get any other tips on your prob mate.
Ps I dont blame you I would dothe same.

Just had another look at your fault codes,
0155 02 sensor I would say thats a lambder sonder caoused by caused by misfire on cyl. 2,4,6,
so nothing to worry about.
0300 just shows the misfire on cyl. 2,4,6,
0335 is krank sensor so it could be faulty even if new. is it a vx part or other?
it could be that a cam sensor is knackered or that the plug leads or knackerd on that bank.
Have you looked in the plug wells if they are clean and free from water and oil?

Yeah, could be a cam sensor, didn't know these existed! This was not a gradual fault, something suddenly went so I doubt if a build-up of oil in the plug wells would have caused it, but I have an open mind. I'm not too experienced with a modern engine like this so I think I'll find a friendly mechanic I know to see if he can shed any light on it. Thanks for the replies :)

A bit more advice needed - are the cylinders 2, 4 and 6 the offside bank of cylinders? Local garage think a coil pack needs replacing.
Are genuine, new, VX parts the only ones recommended to put on?
