Title: Dull hollow noise..
Post by: johncol on 23 July 2009, 21:22:36
Hard to describe this one, happens when driving-seems to originate from the front right wheel area, at a guess. It sounds like your running on a tyre thats a bit down in pressure but not flat. All tyre checked and are ok.  Could it be a bearing?

Possibly a duff engine mount?  At around 25 mph (and light throttle) we had a heavy dull knocking noise which turned out to be the nearside engine mount being very sickly.  I guess there was a resonance that just made the engine bounce at that (but only that) speed.

Is your noise speed-related?

Not really speed related, fairly constant in the journey. Starting to get used to it now so dont notice it as much.
