I've had a go with both the paperclip test; connected A and B and turned ignition on, no flashes and the pedal test, still no flashes.
Still the engine comes on every so often and stays on for a while.
Can anyone please tell me why?
The car is a 2000 (W) Omega Estate CD Petrol manual 2.lt and shows nothing wrong on the dashboard information display screen.

reading your thread are you saying that the paperclip test did not work or you did not get any codes?

Don't think you can paperclip 2lt, need codes read
-
The paperclip test should work on a 2.0, did you have the right holes connected and was the ignition on but the engine off.

That's what I thought but no one seems to know for sure.
Used A and B which I think is right and yes ignition on engine off

Tried 3rd and 5th with the clip both up and down no change.
This site says A and B
http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm
as does this one
http://www.makinterface.de/index_e.php3?frompage=/aldl_e.php3
I have also tried A and K.
Nothing makes any difference.
Nobody seems to have the definitive answer so
it looks like I need to get a dealer to do a tech 2 check.

That was the first place I looked but it's no good as my car does not have that diagnostic plug, mine is on the drivers side and has 10 pins.
Just booked it in to be checked and the cost is only £45!!

If the engine light has been lit, but has gone off again...?
Could it be that there simply ARE no codes stored...?
-
Diagnostics plug on all Omegas is the same looks wise...pin 4 and 6 on 2.5/3.0 v6's for paperclip pin 1 being top right pin then working down...not sure on 2.0

Ok thanks for all your help so far!
Did the test again probably using the correct plug this time!!
Came up with 10 flashes,1 flash, 3 flashes, 10 flashes which I think is 0130 and relates to the o2 sensor.
Is this all correct?
Had a quick look before the wife went shopping couldn't locate it.
Can you let me know where it is and how easy it is to change?
