One other simpler problem can be the cause.
It happened to me.
Just try to tighten the bolts on the metal thin rod between the door and body

Cheers guys, will give those a go when the weather is a bit less wet.

I'm gonna do this on thursday now, read the guide and looks pretty easy enough, what sort of grease should I use? any recommended brands? cheers

Any sort of grease will do.

I assume halfords sell grease of some sort?

Yes they do. Any sort will do.
But this is a job best tackled sooner rather than later as if it gets worse it will be much much more troublesome to fix. The service kit (or big washers) works very well. :y (but take the part numbers when you go to Vx so they can find it)
