How big a job would it be to remove the towbar and twin sockets from my GLS and refit them on my Elite.
It's not a fold away or detatachable one. Plus I think they may be some square section that runs under the fuel tank. (long time since I looked underneath)
Are there many holes to plug up on the GLS, and is the wiring likely to be plug/socket or cut into the wiring loom in the boot.
TIA. :y

Also to add, I am not in a position to do it myself, so I will be getting a mate to do it. Plus I am considering cleaning it all up before refitting. So may have it shot blasted and hammerite it before refitting.

It's not a huge amount of work. Might need 2 pairs of hands to remove the bolts through the front of the boot floor and crossmember. May or may not need to remove the bumper depending on clearance. Couple of hours should see it done, plus any cleaning up and painting, tea drinking, etc.

Cheers Kevin, it was the bumper bit that I was concerned about. :-/

Not a huge problem. You will probably get a bar off with it in place, but best to remove it to fit the bar so you can drill holes from the outside and rustproof. It's only the 4 screws along the rear of the boot and another 2 screws each side to take the bumper off.

I doubt the wiring will be plug & play, you'll have to have a look at what you already have fitted. Please don't use Scotchlocks ...... ;) ;)
