Title: Automatic Greabox
Post by: Paul at Home on 30 July 2009, 11:07:15
Hi Can any one please advise me on Automatic Gearbox fault indication.
I have just changed the left hand head gasket as water was coming out the side of the rear of the head.
I watched the DVD on cam belt change and successfully changed the belt at the same time. the engine runs and the car drives but I have this indication auto box? I noticed that the sports switch doesn't work or should I say there is no indication on the dash and the gear section indication is also not lighting up. I have checked the auto gearbox fuse and that's OK. Please Help :-[

Did you unplug anything on the gearbox?? Maybe just knocked a plug off doing the work??

2.2 for example will get to limp mode when MAF is disconnected, check all connections as Mutant suggested.
Where are you located so than someone with scan tool can help to get the fault code.

I first thought It might be a connector or something like that so I have been under the car this morning and checked all the gearbox connectors and they all look OK.
I live in Warwick near the race course so if there is anyone local who can help? other than that I'll have to visit the local dealer and be ripped off!

Thanks I'll check it straight away. Every thing was fine before I started that's why I don't think there is a gearbox fault
