Title: oil warning light

i know the car im picking up on sunday has a problem with the oil warning light flashing on every now and then even though the oil level is spot on is this a common fault is it gonna be something big or expensive or is it an easy fix with a nex sensor any help would be more than welcome thanks

when you say 'oil warning' do you mean the level sensor which would give a message on the dispaly along the lines of lack of oil, or do you mean low pressure light. If it's lack of pressure it could be anything!  :-?  :y  :y

Had the same problem, changed the oil pressure switch all OK now. Got genuine from VX as cheaper than aftermarket only about £5.

I too get the "check oil level" on a regular basis every 1k or so but when I check it all appears ok. no oil leaks at all so do I have a dodgy sensor somewhere?
