Your pipes etc from the windscreen washer reservoir to the jets will be full of gunk.
Just had this as an MOT snag to rectify for a pass.

spearmint whats the best way to clean these ?

I don't know if this is the best way but it after 6 years of poor jets this is what fixed it for me.
Tools: 0.5mm interdental brush, 100psi air compressor
1. Use interdental brush to loosen the dirt in each of the jets. Alternately brush then squirt to get the hard deposits moving. After a while you will get to the stage where there are some big bits inside the washer jets that won't come out.
2. lift bonnet and disconnect washer pipe behind hinge on passenger side.
3. close bonnet and blow compressed air into the washer jets to flush the big bits back down the pipe. If you don't do this all the rubbish you carefully cleaned out of your jets will come back up the pipe and block them again.
4. reconnect washer pipe & spend all morning redirecting the washer jets ;)

You could also use a needle to clean the jets out, take the pipes off the back of the jets and use your pump to pump the rest of dirt out. and check that your bottle is clean.

excellent will give it a blast :)

Yup, just like the guys above said. :)

What Andy H says, and ....... you'll probably find that the filter in the washer pump tank is full of slimey gunge too. The pump is just a push fit into a grommet in the tank, but, this grommet also incorporates a filter - it looks like a thimble - and this filter needs removing and cleaning out. Then your washer pump water will manage to hit the screen! ;) :y :y :y

I had a similar problem which the old needle trick couldent handle. So I took the washer jets off and soaked them in a small cup of Cillit Bang making sure plenty of the product went into the jets. 30 mins later a quick rinse and popped them back on and they're as good as new :y
