Is this a bit lost cause?
The old 2.5 had the options of the enlarged throttle body, gsi or 3.0 cams for 200+ bhp.
Are there similar easy upgrades for the 2.6? Do the 3.2 inlet cams work for the 2.6 like the 3.0's did in the 2.5? Did the 2.6 Vectra GSi have anything special over the Omega engine?
Also, are there any easy airbox mods that can be performed?
I guess that the heads could be done but only if the gaskets go first!
Finally, what do folks do for re-mapping? Any preferred suppliers?

Got any pics of the inlet divider you are referring to as there are so many bits there!
I presume that the 3.0 and 3.2 cams would be equally valid upgrades or are the 3.0 better for some reason? Did you use both inlet and exhaust cams? I recall that on the MSD GSi's they only used the 3.0 inlet on the 2.5 unit.
Are there any options from the likes of Schrick or Piper?
What mods do folks to to the air box - there is miles of trunking there and surely it could be larger?
Upgraded sparks / leads any good?
So your list, maped and a decent exhaust will be interesting, especially with the lower gearing of the 2.6 against the larger units.

No idea - 3.0 were available so I used them.
Mike got dynoed at around 195bhp

Yes you need to do both the intake and exhaust cams on this engine. Not sure what the difference in cam size/profile is for the 3.2 over the 3.0, but considerind there is only 5bhp between them its probably nothing usefull.
3.0 manifolds and boring out the head ports to match has allready been mentioned.
The throttle bodies can't be bored out as such but the shaft can be filed down and the large obstructive screw heads replaced with grub screws to open up more area when the butterflies are open and improve the flow capacity (I have performed this modification successfully on my throttle bodies)...message me if you would like me to do yours for you :y
I assume "all that trunking" you are talking about is the excess of intake pipe in the box its self? :-?
The standard air box is not really restrictive to the engine, and the MAF sensors can be affected by the oil used in filters such as K&N cones etc..so unless you don't mind having to find a new MAF soon I wouldn't really bother spending any money there as it wont give you significant gains.
The exhaust system....hmmm. As yours is a 2.6 I think (but may be wrong) that it allready comes with the improved pressed steel manifold (as opposed to the cast items on the 2.5s and 3.0s. which are more restrictive). Probably best to check that one, but removing the mid silencers is a useful mod to do, reducing back-pressure (an making it louder too ;) )
Blanking off the EGR can also give small gains in performace.
Spark plugs and leads won't give you any power gains if the ones you allready have are in good condition.
Remaps I know nothing about...probably best start a separate post about that. :y

So, basically change the cams and sort out the spindles on the TBs. I have just changed the exh so not going to take out the centres (well, this year anyway!).
The pressed manifolds you refer to - is that the inlet or exhaust?
If I ever need to have the heads off then maybe I would consider getting them matched to the manifolds but not unless.
I have a contact who will sort me out with a map.

Ok, so is there a mod to do on the inlet manifolds then? Is that a DIY job (any 'how-to's?) or are there any companies that offer the conversion?

No just straight swap with 3.0 items.

ok -thanks, so when the cambelt change next comes up for change all I need are the 4 cams and the cover seals to give to my tame mechanic. Nothing else to bother with.
