Title: eml after fast run
Post by: yatesDELTA on 19 August 2009, 16:54:06
Well drove my new omega to work last night down a1, drove faster than normal (usually do the 15 miles at 60 to save fuel) and did it at 95-100 (im enjoying this v6 petrol fun). Anyway started to slow down for the junction and the EML came on. Car drove normally rest of way to work and back again this morning. I took it to mechanics and they cleared the codes and said to do it again and see if eml comes on, and to take it back to see if any codes are stored.
Any ideas what it possibly could be?

Surely the garage that removed the codes would have noted what they were before the cleared them .....  :-/  :-/

Worth doing the pedal trick - I'd expect an 0420 or 0430 code, with it being a 3.2.

Oh, sorry, forgot that bit :P

It's the pre-cats on the DBW cars, they get inefficient and so start flashing out error codes from their sensors. No actual problem, the rest of the exhaust sorts everything out, it's just the sensors crying wolf.

Pedal trick will tell you any codes, anyway :y
