Going down the LPG route at long last with the MV6, Question, If I do a DeCat can I present the Car for its MOT as LPG, or are they going to insist its tested on petrol and fail.
Anyone done this?
Does a De Cat make much improvements to the 3.0 Lump ? :y

Chris.
You should notice a definate difference with a de-cat,but not sure about the other question though.

Thanks Mark, All ready got my hands on a one piece Stainless Steel Cats back Exhaust, slightly less restrictive and with Mid Note, hopefully not to loud, thinking this without Cats might help. :y

Speak to anyone about a de-cat and they will or should tell you the same mate, there is so much restriction in a cat, probably looking at a good 15 bhp increase in my opinion. :y

When presenting the car for MOT, ensure it's running on LPG and tell the tester it is on LPG. It then gets a different test to the standard cat test :y :y :y
Be interesting to see the results of a de-catted emissions test :y :y

Hmm, be careful here guys, when a car is presented on LPG for its test the emissions should be multiplied by the hexine? factor some dont bother but if they do it will fail without the cats!!!
just a word to the wise for you!! :y

Thanks Gents, I'll have to look into the Mot thing a bit more.
What about the sensors if its been DeCatted?, is that an easy one to get round?
Was also thinking of doing some minor Head work aswell to suit. Presumably its best to do all this before the LPG convertion.

There are no post-cat sensors on a 3.0 so it will know no different.
Might as well do any tuning work while you're doing the LPG conversion. It's got to be stripped down and the inlet manifold machined to fit the gas nozzles. Might as well do any head porting then and the manifold can be fettled to match at the same time.

Cool, was thinking of Porting and the Butterfly Mods, so any advise from anybody would be great.
Not sure if I'll do the LPG Install myself yet (been quoted about £400 to fit and Set up) already got the Kit, BRC from a 3.0 Mv6 (from MarkyMark), comes complete with pre drilled Inlet manifolds.
