"It is estimated that at least 150,000 drivers misfuel each year – one every three and a half minutes – generating around 7.5 million litres of contaminated fuel or the equivalent of three Olympic-sized swimming pools"
:o :o
there must be a solution to this..

Father in law has a diesel van, and a petrol car.
Has done this about 3 times now!
when his car was a v6 cav, it burned diesel / petrol mix quiet nicely!
Van got petrol a few times, got pumped out and fed to the cav few litres at a time.
dont think it ever happened the other way round though.

The surname seems like a joke one MacSporran - rather than a real one
At least I can't misfuel
-
I've only ever driven petrol cars... yet I still check and double-check the writing on the nozzle before I start fuelling...

I think this is partly caused by the fuel companies. Ever since they've started branding their "performance" tractor fuel ranges the same as their super unleaded petrol it's been a lot easier to mistake the two.
It's easy to pick up the "BP Ultimate" pump and not see the "diesel", normally in much smaller letters than the flashy logo.
Leave the diesel pumps black and greasy like they used to be, I say ;D
