i seem to recall trying to help you out and then some very suspicous activity with western union and your subsequent silence when questioned about it...

I have the ONLY Omega MV6 in the Philippines
Our CLub has Omegas, Astras, Rekords manufactured ages ago and Opel GTs among our members.
from my own experience with this member i am convinced this is a scam. i advise other members to avoid.

I have the ONLY Omega MV6 in the Philippines. I need parts and other bits and pieces to make this baby a centerpiece. I am the President of Club Opel Philippines. Our CLub has Omegas, Astras, Rekords manufactured ages ago and Opel GTs among our members. Please help us with our parts needs. Thanks
Personally I read the only bit as relating to the fact it was an MV6...but without positive experiences with the guy would still be very wary!

The OP is asking for parts? If that is the case, nobody should be sending money to him via Western Union or any other method :-/

I NEVER asked for any money nor for anything except for help on parts I need here in the Philippines which I am willing to pay for via paypal BEFORE these parts are even packed and sent from your end. So where is the scam here? I dont even know what OP means.

Wasnt suggesting you were asking for money...I know a degree of personal information is required about the person the money is sent to for it to be sent that way...paypal is better but still has potential problems but overall its just more complicated to get proof of an item arriving in a foreign country hence the increased risk...no offense was meant :y

this is incorrect on both counts. i don't think this is necessarily the right forum to be thrashing this out, however, suffice to say that in the interests of ensuring other members are aware of these concerns you absolutely stated that paypal was not available to you and you certainly did not pay for any items.
you stated western union was your only available payment method and that in order to achieve this transaction many sensitive personal details were required. this, again, is incorrect as western union require a reference number and only the basic identification.
despite clarification from western union themselves you continued to insist that many sensitive personal details were still required, enough to arouse my concern, and when i got suspicous and asked you about this you went unsurprisingly quiet. i didnt hear from you again, despite having spent a lot of time and effort weighing, wrapping and quoting on postage.
my original conclusion that this was a scam, maybe identity theft or otherwise, as it bore the same hallmarks as the classic 'nigerian scam mail'. in the interests of being safer rather than sorry i thought it prudent to raise the warning bell when i saw your original post, which you appear to have conveniently deleted.
as said before, i have not gone into all the detail regarding our previous encounter, i do not think that is particularly constructive, suffice to say that my advice to other members is to approach with caution. i also took the step of reporting your post to the site admin, in the interest of the safety of the other members of this valuable forum.

Points well taken. At that time I had no credit card hence no paypal. Anyway allow me to extend my sincerest apology for any trouble I may have caused you. My mistake. Let me just clarify that my post was not "conveniently" deleted. Another mistake on my part. Lastly, I am not Nigerian. I am proudly Filipino! Mabuhay!

well if you're genuine it's unfortunate that nothing added up. thanks for the apology, if a little on the late side. best of luck finding bits for the only omega mv6 in the phillipines...
