Title: Non standard Immobiliser
Post by: OMEGA VXR on 26 August 2009, 18:52:34
Hi all
Ive finally done it...... Ive bought myself a Capri 2.8i Special & I love it :) :) :)
The thing is its fitted with an immobiliser that nobody seems to have heard of, & unfortuntely I need a certificate for my insurance, for proof its Thatcham cat 2,now all Ive got to go on is that its called a Preclusion Immobiliser (works on radio Frequency ) (RFID) the fob has no buttons/batteries,it was fitted May 1997 by Roy Hubbard Motors Mkt Hrbrgh,I did contact em but could'nt help me,Records don't go back that far!My local car auto leccy want £30 just to check it  & theres no guarantee it will be approved by Thatcham,
the thing is its a great immob. it fits the criteria of my insurers to a T but they need proof >:(
Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks Lee
