Title: rear shock absorbers leaking

whats the best place for rear shock absorbers
went to kwik  fit for a free car check and they said my rear shock absorbers are leaking they wanted £175 is that reasonable or not

But were they actually leaking? :-/ A common trick is to squirt a little oil on them and then 'Excuse me Sir/Madam, have you seen this .....?' >:( Wipe them clean & keep an eye on them yourself.  ;)
£175 I would think is too much anyway, only an hour tops to change them both. :y

my other half has had a look and they are both leaking the passenger side quite bad looks to have been leaking for a while
are they hard to change could we do it ourselves
if we could where would we get them from

Have a look through this RR - it is a straightforward fix.

dead easy to change your self. A nut and bolt across the bottom and a nut on top inside the boot. Make sure you get all the rubber bushes in order.  :y

Buy the rear shocks from vx as they are not that expensive unless you are on a budget. the hardest part is removing the lower shock bolt as they are sometimes
1=Tight
2=corroded
Place an axel stand under the lower arm and hit the old shock to remove from the arm.
Clean the lower arm where the shock fits and give it a smear of greese to aid reassembly/

It is a really easy job to do. There is a maintenance guide to help you if needs be. :y

does anyone know what price i can expect from vauxhalls for them
