Good price, but they are dirt cheap anyway (about £30 iirc)

sluggish in a vectra and early zafaira. both lighter cars....

I nearly bought one, many years ago. It was advertised as "light under bonnet fire", so I went to look. Firstly, the under bonnet fire might have been light, but the burnt out interior meant massive amounts of work, and when I did an HPI on it, I found it had been previously written off. Also he was calling it a GLS, where it was actually a base model, known as "Select". Needless to say I didn't buy it. It sounds like GM didn't have the 16valve engine ready when the Omega was first introduced.

It was an absolute bottom of range thing aming at the Carlton 1.8L market (the 1.8L was dire)

The 16v unit was available. The 8v was a cheapo special...
