Title: Gearbox slight Jerkiness
Post by: valliant72 on 09 September 2009, 21:53:46
Hi, my gearbox is a little jerky between 1-2 and 2-3, its not always a slight jerk felt sometimes u cant tell its changed its that smooth. Ive had the fluid and filter changed recently about 2 months ago to see if that helped. This all started when i changed the drivers side lambda sensor, then i had trouble with the engine idling higher and the gearbox being not a smooth. the engine seems to have sorted itself but not the gearbox. The selector lights flicker just slightly the first time you move the gear selector but then dont anymore.  Also on rare occasions it will go into second quicker than usual, but it changes up through all gears and kicksdown perfectly.

As you have had the Fluid and Filter changed Recantly it maybe a good point to check if the box needs a top up. With the enging running remove the bung at the  drivers side of the main box, the oil should come running out. If not top up until it dose.

Hope that is of help

Steve.

With the indicator light flashing in other positions it sounds like you need to take off the selector switch and give it a good clean. I had a similar problem and it gets worse with time After cleaning the switch it cured many probs inc bumpy gear changes and sough running.
