Hello,
Took a manual box off a 2.6 and I need to know what other engines it fits as I have someone interested in buying it.
Cheers,
Dave

err everthing ever fitted to an Omega... but.
Check which one it is, only R28 can handle the torque of the 3.0/3.2

Cheers for the quick reply, I have a funny feeling it's an AR35.

AR35 is the tough auto box IIRC :y

I'm guessing it'll at least need a different bellhousing on a tractor though...

Oh ok, I thought I had read that on the side, must be me being stupid.
It's definitely a manual. Maybe it's an r35. I will check it tonight.

Probably an R25, then, if it's manual and came off a 2.6?

OK it's got an identity crisis.
It says R25-R28 on the side, so which is it? Or do both share the same case? Are all Omegas hydraulic clutch?
So it will fit any omega, but may need to change bell-housing over.

Its either one or the other, can't be both, most likey R25 if taken of 2.6
Bell-housing will only need to be changed if your fitting it to the 2.5 bmw diesel, not sure about Vx 2.2 diesel lump :-/

My MV6s R28 just had a GM P/N stamped into it and R28

Definately says that on the side.
I will take a pic when I get a chance. It maybe a few days before I can get into the garage again.
I must say thanks again to everyone for replying.

OK, I like a decent mystery, so I went out to the garage again. This iss by no means an easy task which is why I wasn't going to do it tonight, but I was intrigued and so here are the pics.....
Part number....

Then the mysterious R25-R28

And then the other number next to the above....

I hope this sheds some light on it!

Thanks mate, thats answered my question.
So I have an R28 (hydraulic clutch) that will fit any Omega (maybe not TD without bell housing swap).
Cheers again guys. I now have the info I needed. Lets hope he wants it!

Err, no.
All R25 and R28 are both hydraulic clutch when fitted into Omegas.
It says R25/28 on the case because the casting is common between them, the gear clusters and ratios differ slightly between 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 and also with date.
Your box will fit any omega V6 and ratios would be usable on any but ideal for the 2.5/2.6

Oh, can anyone tell from the part number on the box (In the pics) anyone got access to the EPC?
Thanks in advance.

The part number is cast into the casing too, so it won't be model-specific. Does the box not have a sticker or metal tag on it bearing a part number?
