Title: Paperclip Fault Code 10-3-4-10 on 2.0 16V
Post by: dippydave on 11 September 2009, 15:45:52
Hi,

As subject, i've just done a paperclip test and got the following sequence.
10 - 3 - 4 - 10.

The EML light's coming on sporadically!

Sometimes it doesn't come on, sometimes it does. when it does it stays on....

Engine is really yuk at idle and sometimes revs up by itself. Going to clean the ICV shortly but wanted to know what the codes meant?

Thanking you muchly :)

Thanks!

Would that be symptonised by the engine stuttering at about 4000 rpm then?!  ;D >:(  Any idea why it would come and go, or is that just the early signs of sensor failure... :-/

It's quite annoying as not long had lots of work including the crank sensor changed!.... :(

I didn't get round to cleaning idle control valve today, is it likely that it will affect the camshaft sensor tho?  :-/

Finally, any thoughts on whether driving it 400 miles over the weekend (to and from Dorset) is a stupid/potentially harmful idea?  :-/

Thanks dudes and dudettes  :y

I get this,2 3 3 3 3 3 2 6 7 1 7 1 7 3 7 3 7 3 9 1 9 1 9 1 1 1 1 3 3 2 1 2 2 7 7 1 7 1 7 3 7 3 7 3 9 2 9 2 9 1 1 2 1 2 1 1 2 2 2 1 7 1 7 1 7 1 7 1 7 3 7 3 72 9 2 10 1 9, there was more but it was doing me head in, dont have the foggiest wot this all means thanks do you under stand it, im going to see if I can clean the cam shaft outers behind the sprokets see if that dose the trick, as checked ev thing els, think there are magnets on the shafts might be cloged up as its a new sensor and the wiring checks out from sensor to the ECU, or could be not lined up but did not see any thing to line it up, had the battery off for awile it clears the codes. thanks if you can under stand this.  :-/ :-/ :'( poor voxey.
