WHEN GOING UPHILL WITH THE ENGINE UNDER LOAD THE AIR STOPS COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. IT IS EASY TO RESRTART....JUST LIFT OFF THE ACCELERATOR FOR A MOMENT. YOU CAN HEAR A WHISTLE WHEN THE AIR STOPS.
A VACUUM PROBLEM OF SOME SORT. ANY IDEAS?
-
You are on the right lines, sounds like you have vac problems.
Check that vac system correctly wired (Marks DTM Calib posted a 'map' of vac connections in Maintenence Guides section :y)
-
with technology, i'm a bit of a luddite. looked where you suggested but did not find it. only saw previous 25 posts

Ah, soz, too far for me to assist ;D

all tubes are attached and look as if they are in the correct place. is it possible something is sticking or not opening fully?
-
Its possible that the one way valve in the vac tank on the pollen filter housing is goosed......you can fit one for an aquarium in series to sort.
Do check for chafed vac pipes though

WILL LOOK

found a leak on a vacuum pipe. Are repair kits available or is it a new pipe?
-
Ask anyone breaking a mig in the parts section.
Cheapest option by far.

as a temp repair cut the pipe were leaking and insert a bit of brake pipe to join back up motor factors will give you a peice for pence i made temp repair on my last cdx meant to change pipe 4 years on was still ok
-
thanks
been to scrapyard and got pieces that hopefully will cure the problem
-
the leak was on the pipe that goes to the piece on the right by the rad and battery from the servo t piece.
has not cured the prob so must be somewhere else.
i can here all the vent bits moving after turning the engine off. is that normal? vac going etc

Have you checked the non return valve? or added one as suggested?
My last Omega behaved as you have described but seemed to fix itself after I had messed around blowing & sucking to test the non return valve.
-
Where would that be?
If as dtm said a fish tank non return valve will work....on which pipe and which direction?
should i go and get the vac tank if still on scrap one.
once replaced the one at the front as it was broken.....the pipe was dangling. the guy at d'ship did not know what it did
-
I think it was next to the pollen filter behind the scuttle.
(My car was a 1994 model and my memory is a little hazy because it was 6 years ago that I had the problem.)
