Title: rev counter
Post by: ali on 21 September 2009, 22:31:23
Im sure Im about to sound very stuuupid but what should the engine tick over at :-? Syd is not starting or running very well  and even though Ive just changed alternator battery was flat this morning :( Since changing the alternator the car just isnt the same, only thing I can think it could be is the torn manifold gaskets. I have ordered a new set but have to wait a few days. I have noticed that the rev counter is on 500 when engine is ticking over, is that correct :-/ I love my tractor but not loving the hassle of not having a reliable car :'( :'( :'(

mine sits at 550 to 600, wouldnt have thought inlet would make a massive difference at tickover, when you say running poorly do you mean performance wise? inlets are a good call if it is!!!l :y

On top of that the battey is being drained over night :( Ive traced it back to the earth wire. But while checking this I found a cable I hadnt reconnected when I had the manifold off :-[ so I guess that may be causing my lack of power :-? but will still replace gaskets when I can get it started :'( :'( :'( :'(
