I normally change the plugs every 10k......dual electrode vx ones.
But due to being lazy and seeing how far i could push the plugs i changed them this week.
20k they had done.......
Being on lpg i know the plugs suffer more and need changing sooner.....
Vx recommend 40k for dual electrode on petrol and 20k for lpg........
After removing the old plugs i checked them against the new ones......the gap on the old plugs looked bigger.....so best i could i check the gap with a tape measure......i was suprised! just about 2mm :o
So in 20k miles the electrodes had burnt away nearly a 1mm.......
No wonder my omega was suffering with missing more than normal.
Since new plugs fitted.......hesitation is far less from standstill........switches to lpg from petrol without coughing so much and doesnt miss when idling after its switched when still coldish :y
Think i'll be going back to 10k changes for my plugs :y
So heads up for you lpg users........change ya plugs often :y

Interesting...
That's a lot of erosion of the electrodes. You must have a good HT system to fire on LPG with a 2mm gap :o
.. of course changing them sooner also puts less stress on the insulation in the HT system so could prolong the life of the coil pack.
I wonder how long iridium plugs would last and if they'd pay for themselves?

Well.......it was missing quite a lot.......when it first switched to lpg at 40c water temp (used to put EML on for it).....and did sometimes stall if i put in drive at the time it switched even when hot.........both at idle....
Seems to have a bit more power as well now.........
So think the HT system was struggling........
