Anyone know of a better option than the bloody horrible standard plastic abomination?

what? better than that beautifully crafted leather clad peace of sculpture that sits proudly in the middle of the interior for all to see as a shining light, a proud beacon, a symbol of all thats wholly in the automotive industry? .......No mate. :-) not afaik. Sport mode button may limit options perhaps?

Don't know how difficult it would be to change it for something else, probably a lot of hassle just to be different, but could always look at perhaps the selector off a Mk4 Astra perhaps, though don't know if it could be made to fit and work ?. Think you'd have to change the whole selector unit, not just the selctor itself somehow ?.
Get a standard mig selector off a scrap one, and same for an Astra or what ever you decide, and compare them ?.

Hmm, food for thought there!
Thinking about it after I posted, I wondered if swapping the whole selector unit would be the answer.
I remember my old Vectra V6 having the same gearknob as the Omega, but I don't know what the Astra one looks like. (Rushes off to have a look on ebay........)
Mk4 Astra auto knob looks as bad, but Mk 5 looks better.
Probably more trouble than it's worth, so project for the winter maybe!!! :D

I have wondered about shortening the stick a bit somehow :-X
