Title: EML would it come on if?

Saturday was driving along nicely when on turning a corner the EML came on and car started spluttering and jerking.
Pulled onto a nearby car park and the area stunk of fuel on getting out the fuel was hissing out everywhere.
Small pipe from tank to filter had corroded (fixed now) but why the EML light? i thought the engine was knacked or something and nearly had heart attack

EML probably came on because of the pressure drop in the fuel rail. Paperclip it, it should have stored the code ;)
