I plugged in the computer to the car to find out what was throwing up the headlamp error message and I got the following code - B1001 - (0) Control Unit Not Calibrated, Does this mean that I need a new ECU for the headlamp levelling system, Thanks.
-
Not sure - could try the calibration routine via tech2, but unsure why it got in this state, which could signify the flash is knackered

same thing hapened to me, it's a replacement part I'm afraid: On the near side wish bone is a rod which connects to a sensor switch. This will have come apart. You can get the new switch easily from a dealer, cost about £100. The warning comes up as low field of vision

This is a different issue, with the ECU complaining of corrupted flash memory

Tie wrap will fix that! Or failing that a breaker will sell you one for £20.
Never seen the OP's issue before but 2nd hand ECU units cost around £20 from the ebay breakers.
The ECU lives under the front offside wing, Might be worth checking the connection is clean and tight, you can access it by unclipping the wheel arch liner and pulling back slightly.

Thanks for the replies checked the connection etc and all are fine so just ordered a replacement ECU.

I had the same, when I fitted a new control unit for the headlight levelling system. I calibrated it with an "My Naff Code Reader" prog.

The replacement ECU came today, and the problem is now sorted.
