Hi All
I have a leak of hot water/fluid fom under the dash in the drivers footwell. It drips down from above my left foot so I guess its the hoses to or from the heater matrix.
Anybody know a way of fixing it without stripping the whole dash, steering wheel and airbag out.
All help appreciated.
(My car is a 2.5 elite)
Cheers Ray

does the windscreen steam up in the morning, even on demist? the old vauxhalls used o rings on the matrix it was a crap idea then, they may have changed it . does it run down the passengers side of the drivers footwell? on the old ones you could see the end of the matrix by putting your head on the brake pedal. heater bypass valve running down the pipes but it is unlikley to make it into the cabin.

As said above, you can, with a little contortionism, see the point where the alloy hoses attach to the matrix without removing any trim.
One o-ring round each pipe.
Unfortunately...I have a feeling that it may be that the plastic parts of the matrix are starting to come 'unstuck'. Hope not for your sake.
How hard is your radiator top hose when engine is at full temp?

The leak is to the left of the drivers footwell and sometimes drips on to my ankle when the leg is extended. Once in stop/go traffic it actually steamed up the instrument panel in front of the speedo.
Screen takes a long time to demist on drivers side as though there is moisture been blown on to it.
I will try and get my head down near the brake and see if I can see anything but at 6' and 63 years old that's not esay! also I would have thought the fuse panel would be in the way.

could be but doesnt sound like the o rings. the pipes come in above the foot(i think). the piece of crap foam and rubber thing above the pedals may have to come down. get upside down in the seat( im afraid its the only way) but first drop the seat to the floor, put it all the way back and wind the back down. then its quite nice, my mate thought it was hilerious but declined the offer to have a look. a few silly twist fixings and your in. also old sofa cusion in the footwell would be nice but i didnt have one.
