I would STRONGLY advise against this .. the propellant in hairspray is often butane ... a highly flamable gas.

A light spray with carb cleaner is a far safer method, and once you have found the source of the air leak, a wipe doan with paper towels and you also have a nice clean engine .....   not a horrible sticky residue !!!

Dangerous using hair spray - still at least it'll keep your engine in place  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
As above use light spray of carb cleaner

The sound of the fire engines sirens would drown out the noise though  ::)
Could it not be the fan under the front wing (forgotten the name)
May be worth checking gearbox level if auto just in case too
Oh just thought have you checked the big black vac pipe  I have had two of these wear through they rub against the air con pipe work ,unless you have the little spacer to hold the pipes apart ,which  I have now  :y
