hi all, the pedal trick on my 2.6v6 cd auto works as far as the symbol flashing, but where are the fault codes displayed? there is nothing shown on the radio display area? thanks.
-
Hi Ruby, you'll see a yellow light flashing on the dash under the speedo. Count the flashes and make a note.
Oh and 10 flashes = 0 :y
-
hi, the only one that flashes is the picture of the car with the spanner through it.is this correct? thanks.
-
yep :y
-
Thankyou. :)
-
hi, i seem to get 10 flashes and then 1, then 10 again then 3, 10 again then 3, it seems to repeat itself.
-
To clarify, are you getting 10-1-10-3--10-1-10-3--10-1-10-3 constantly :question

I'm thinking 0301 (cyl 1 misfire), can't think of another code from that sequence off top off my head
-
sounds about right? :)

What does, 0301 or 0103 :question

this is a little confusing, i get 10 flashes pause then get 1 flash pause then get 10 flashes pause then get 3 flashes pause and the same sequence until it stops altogether. not sure i am actually reading it right and not understanding how you actually read the sequence, sorry :(

The code you`re getting (10-1-10-3) equates to 0103 which is
a high input on the MAF circuit. Basically the MAF sensor is throwing a wobbler. Have a read of this and check the connections and cabling to the MAF and also check for any air leaks. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1155126173

thanks Rob. this makes sense as i was at a garage this afternoon where the mechanic was spraying carb cleaner into the air intakes and causing the car to dip down on tick over and sometimes cut out. running fine afterwards though and i think i understand now how you read the codes? Example 10 and then 2 - 10 and then 4 would equal 0204? many thanks for your help. :)

That`s right mate :y :y
Spraying into the intakes will cause the drop in revs so if you suspect an air leak around any of the vac pipes just do the same in the area of the said pipes and you will get the same reaction :y

brill, and thanks again!! :y

hi again, just curious if you can clear your own fault codes? if this comes up again how do i know its not an old code? :)
