Title: Auto Box switching sports mode on and off

Auto Box started switching sports mode on and off on me last night, you could switch it back off using the switch only to find it would switch itself back on again, then off etc.

Never had this before until last night after being parked up for an hour? Box has be fine up until now (2000 3.0 MV6).

What do you reckon intermittent switch or something more sinister?

Ok, thinking about this a bit more, I've ruled out the intermittant switch thing, its never happened before and was too consistent when doing it last night.

Think I would be looking at the switch/wiring in the first instance to ensure no shorts then checking the autobox fluid level thereafter......

Mine did this a couple of times a few months back, I changed the auto box oil (it needed doing any way) and not had a problem since.

Well checked the wiring, as much as I could, didn't find any thing odd, checked the gearbox level, that was fine. So decided to take it out for a good thrashing in sports mode, to see if I could break it anymore!.

After halve an hour so, slowed down to normal to let my heart rate recover only to find its working normal and has been fine over the last few days?

Will probably come back to haunt me again one day.  :y
