Title: 2002 2.2 Auto Safe Mode Running
Post by: Ridgeback on 21 October 2009, 09:59:21
Started yesterday with the wife's car.
Shortly after starting off and stopping at junction, it lurched and then won't go above 10 MPH.
I should add that all the time it was doing 10MPH she had her foot to the floor fearing it was going to cut out on the dual carriageway.
When she eased up on the pedal it started to come back into life again.
Thinking it was a on-off, it has done it again this morning after stopping at same junction, but has not gone into safe mode, but running rough.
Is this weather related as it's got colder over the last few days?

mine did that when i got the car the DIS pack had a crack in it, mine would only go at 10mph, then let your foot off thinking it was going to stop and it was alright again, was told to change the DIS pack so did and worked fine then. but would check other options first.

Mine did the same a couple of weeks ago, changed the cam sensor after having the codes read and touch wood its been fine since.

If you do replace it make sure you use genuine GM parts. :y
