Guys and Gals, Good Evening.
I'd be most grateful if someone could refresh my mind with the following:
As we know, there a 3 fans with migs with a/c, two in front of the heater matrix and one at the back of the radiator. My question is, which fan should be the one starting first (a/c OFF) when the engine temperature goes up to say 95 - 97 C?
TIA :y

hi Ziad, my 2.2 only has 2 fans, one for A/C one for engine cooling. I think the larger engined omegas have 3 fans. In answer to your question, the fan behind the radiator (one closest to the engine) should come on at between 92/95degrees. However, I believe from my own experience, that the A/C fan is relayed to come on to assist the engine fan if needed. Hope this helps :y

In mine two in the front behind grill starts up just over 95. never reach more than 98 so the big one behind radiator never goes on.

Hi Zaid. if your A/C is off main fan will kick down at 95ish, but if A/C on main fan will come round 98 and secand speed wil come round 106 you will know very loud, had only ones on my last 3.0 ::)after hard driving

Thanks guys for bringing some light into the dark :P
I've noticed the front left one (behind the grill when facing the engine) running yesterday but the fan behind the rad was off. I got kind of alarmed and thought that the was something wrong. So, it's normal for the front left fan to start running (at half speed, of course) before the rad fan?? With A/C on, the other (second one - the right one when facing the engine) fan behind the grilles starts.
@ serek - I have the fans running at full speed VERY often ... as I have some lead in my boots, if you know what i mean ::) ::) :P :-X

Ziad, I had exactly the same concern a few months ago when I could only see one fan running. LOL
I managed to establish the behaviour by turing the a/c on and off and watching the temp guage. I think its normal.
In this stifiling heat it does get a tad worrying. :-?

You're right ... I guess you're right, but i'll still watch it closely, just to make sure ;) :y
