Title: tractor dying again ?

Opinions please 2.2 dti sudden loss of power, lots of smoke and lots of oil from rear top of engine,don't seem to have lost any coolant. have we killed another engine :'( :'( :'(

Possibly showing my ignorance of diesels here ... if the 2.2dti is common rail ignore this suggestion.

Has one of your injector pipes fractured?

Point taken but the 2.5's were too old to plate  (taxi)  :y
Oil level was ok before at start of shift, oil all seems to be from the rear ,cant see much  other than oil sprayed everywhere, we'll see what the spanner men say tommorow, who knows it might not be too serious :-/

Well the spanner men have had a look,apparently the vacuum pump has some how broken off ? how can that happen ? what could cause it ? the garage are investigating but some scratching of heads is going on :-/ :-/ :-/

Funny that was the original guess from the mechanic could :-/ that cause vacuun pump to fail ?

Well enough is  enough :'(
Apparently the vacuum pump siezed and broke off,the sudden jolt broke three rockers and put a couple of valves through the pistons.So looks like 440k is the end of the line so much for 1/2 million.
Not worth another engine as no doubt something else would follow (gearbox,turbo etc) so to the scrap yard it will be :'(

Had it been a real Traktor, 500K would have been a breeze!! ;D
