Title: winter service
Post by: tunnie on 11 December 2007, 12:21:36
Wii sales have made me a few quid on the side, so that got me thinking.

Who here would be interested in basic winter servicing done by me?? - Just the simple stuff:

Breather pipe clean
Coolant flush and change
Crank sensor replacments
fault code read / resets
[/list]

While some members pick them selves up from the floor, anyone interested?

Service would be done using geniune GM parts

What are you using to do that?

How about a spelling course (pot and kettle I know!)

What about cam sensors on 4 pots........i know you've done that job before  :y

Unfortunately , Ive just done my plugs / air filter and had an oil/filter change.....so thats me done for the time being  ;)

Only job im planning on......dependant on what my neighbour says (i sent him to vx dealer today with my TC card so he can get new wipers for his veccyc) vx quoted him for mudflaps for my estate.
This weather its hardly worth cleaning it........so maybe mudflaps will help  :-/

Tunnie, how much for a full service, inc spark plug change, breather clean, and if possible two new camcover gaskets on my V6?

I'm actually semi serious, cos it's cold and I can't be arsed  ::)

Ahh, Me too!

Don 't suppose you have the source code, do you? Or are you just filling out the data files with English descriptions?

I have created a full set of data files with english descriptions and the associated fault codes plus made a few extra tweaks to alter the language, make it Omega only, add a few more systems (i.e. faceift radios and satnav) and enter most of the config info.

I am 100% sure that a fair chunk wont yet work due to some of the init codes being wrong but, that which does work should be in english with the correct fault codes included so I need to determine what systems dont work so I can focus on them

Should of added, PM me an email address and I will send you a zip......I dont want it going to to many people yet though because it is very much a BETA version.

My aim is to make it so that fault codes can be read from all the systems.....nothing more.

Seriously drop around one weekend, its AGES since i got my hands oily. Give yours a winter service + my gearbox. The garage should keep us slighly warmer!

Good idea on the cam sensor td.... i know which bolt not to shear now!  ;D

Mark,

I may well be interested in some of that stuff - 5000 miles since last service, so oil change for starters.  But would probably have to be after Xmas...

Cheers,
Baz.
