i think only the backing plate on the tensioners would be different. someone will confirm.
-
SHould be the same - what was wrong with the Y26?
If it was cam belt failure you can use the X25 heads on the Y26
-
NO UNFORTUNATELY THE Y26SE IS TOAST BEARINGS
NON FUNCTIONING OIL PUMP I JUST READ THAT THE Y26SE HAS 225 TEETH AND THE WIDTH IS 30 SO I GUESS IF I COUNT MINE AND IT IS THE SAME IT SHOULD WORK
-
is there something wrong with your caps lock? STOP shouting.
Tensioner is a different design on the back i think, as mentioned you could use the 2.5 heads on the 2.6
-
No the 2.6 engine is a gonner so i am going to have to put the complete 2.5 engine in but as i mentioned the timing belt doesn't look to well so i whould like to change it for peace of mind
-
in that case put the 2.6 heads on the 2.5, as that will already have the DBW gubbins
-
Ok counted the teeth on mine it is also 225 and widt is also 30 so i think i will give it a go i am sure it will work will just have a look at the tensioners
thanks guy's have a good night

dbw gubbins ?
DBW - Drive by wire.
2.6 has an ECU controlled throttle, 2.5 is cable driven.
-
Ok yeah sure i will put all the anchilleries of the 2.6 over to the 2.5
thanks for all the advise
have a great evening
