Finally got round to changing my wishbones today and all went smoothly apart from dropping one of the bolts down a gap between the bulkhead, it'll never see the light of day again.
Put everything back together, lowered the car first to settle everything in before tightening it all up, basically as per the guide on this site.
Upon taking the car for a drive it still has a noticeable rattle at the front, not as bad as it was before I changed the wishbones but it's definately still there. Whilst I was under the car I had a good look at everything else and it all seems solid so I can't think what else it could be.
I did used to own an escort and the bushes on the anti roll bar went and that produced a similar wishbone type knocking sound but looking on the omega I can't seem to see any similar looking bush on the anti roll bar. >:(
Any ideas?

Yep, 2 x "D" shaped bushes. Pop a wheel off and have a look where the anti-roll bar starts to cross over to other side of car, one each side.

It'll be drop links mate - you can't always see they are knackered unless really bad. Change as a pair - only around £15 a pair off ebay!

:y Yes, the anti-roll bar keeps them feeling solid when wiggled. They can feel fine when wiggled, yet still be worn enough to cause a clonking sound over bumps and even slight ridges, and is more noticable at low speeds.

It'll be just my luck that the wishbones were infact fine and not in need of changing >:(
Suppose at least they're done though and won;t need doing for a while to come.
-
As sad, just change the drop-links.
Many motor factors stock them at around £15-ish a pair. You'll probably notice that the originals have very sloppy ball-joints when taken off - that's probably you're noise.

and me too. a piece 4 inches long broke off the bottom and was sitting unseen in the cup at the bottom - rattled over every bump, but completely invisible looking from underneath.

Had the same problem, only way to check the 'drop links' is to take them off, therefore buy a replacement pair for £20, job done, no rattle, except for 'that' bolt !!!!!!
