Title: intake manifold

Got intake manifold off to change the alternator,being meaning to for a while, to clean it along with egr valve.I ve never seen so much gunk inside in my life.I was thinking ,pour some praffin in and leaving it overnight, just asking paffin wont do any damage to the manifold or egr valve,or how have you guys cleaned yours, cheers charlie

i put paint stripper in my EGR (really thick stuff) It was not to bad in there, but the paint stripper got rid of all the crap  :)

Yep, paint stripper is good to use and you will need many applications to remove all the muck :(

Got works van so time not a problem, :ydid you clean the valve with anything after the paint stripper ;)

Filled it with paint stripper, till it was full. Left it for 30 mins or so, poured what little came out into a tub. Got an old tooth brush in there, and gave it a good clean. I repeated it a couple of times  :y

well then Off to the shops I go for some paint stripper,will use wor lass tooth brush ;D
