Title: Will it fit? (Interior)
Post by: calibrafan on 16 November 2009, 11:56:34
Hello,

I am seriously considering buying an Omega saloon from 2001.
There is 1 problem with the car the interior has had a leaking battery on it, and is far from ok.

A friend of me has a nice Cream leather interior from a 1998 omega Saloon. My big question is!  Will this fit?

To clarify the one I want to buy is new type the 1998 interior if from older type

Hoping to hear from you soon.

I do not no about facelift interiors except that the door cards are very different.
I have put seats from a 99 into a 96 and I had to change the seat bases/runners to keep the seat belt tensioners ok.

It is easy to change the seat bases just 4 bolts but make sure the seat is in the highest setting before removing it.

Just out of interest, why will it not fit ?

From topics I read on the forum seats are a little different shape, doorcards are completely different. Not sure about wiring in the seats but this also can be a problem.
Maybe I'm wrong but pretty sure it isn't a straight swap

Mr Marthewst is correct.

1) Door cards are a totatly different design (window buttons are on them for a start)

2) Seat runners are different design.

3) It won't look right, i have seen mini-facelift leather in facelift and it does not 'look' quite right....

Even though its a 1998 plate, is it a 98 model year? Is it a mini-facelift with side airbags? If not, then i would not even contemplate swapping the seats

Door cards, a LOT of work would be needed. Seats not plug and play, but can be done.

Depends how much you want to do  :y

Seats will fit but door cards won't.

I'm going to put mini facelift leather in my facelift diesel ;)

I've got front and rear seats from a facelift saloon if you're interested. Not leather though.
Pm for more details.
