Title: ICV issue?
Post by: NewarkTerry on 24 November 2009, 20:49:34
Hi all...re-posting a message that I posted in the Newbie area...

my 2.0 GLS auto (T reg)is idling too fast and the revs rise and fall when I put it in park. From what I can gather it seems the ICV may be at fault? Anyone know any decent mechanics in the Notts / Lincs area that could sort it out for me, given my mechanical ineptitude.....?

TIA

Terry

Classic symptoms of a dirty idle control valve, probably due to blocked or clogged breathers. Easy job to do yourself, just get a replacement IACV gasket from Vx first.

Thanks Matchless

Easy job to do yourself

I think you have seriously over-estimated my abilities there!  :)

So...no-one recommended? :(

Thanks all - profile duly updated. It is an NG23 postcode....how did you guess?   :y

I have a day off work on Monday - I may well lift the bonnet and have a look then. I'd still rather pay someone who knew what they were doing though!
