Title: Faulty rev counter & fuel gauge
Post by: neilr on 30 November 2009, 15:53:28
hi since replacing the oil cooler on my 2.5 v6 1995 both the rev counter & fuel gauge are working badly its as if there is a loose connection as they flick on and off. is there a common connector or fuse that the both use that i could have disturbed.

i would remove the dash and then push it back into the but conector  :y

rev counter takes its signal from the abs/tc unit and the fuel gauge comes from the sender in the tank  :y

pretty sure the only place they join is at the back of the dash  :y

if that doesnt work, check the earth in the drivers side footwell ( behind the panel / underneeth the bonnet cable lever )
