can someone please tell me how much oil i need to put in a 2.6 v6 when doing a change and is it def 10/40
-
10/40 semi - get genuine GM
just over 6 litres - fill until it touches the top marker on the dipstick...
-
5.75 litres, IIRC.
10w40 will be fine. In fact, any semi or fully synthetic 40 or 30 weight oil will be fine. GM 10w40 bought on a trade card is by far the best value though.

That's about right IME. However, quantity is irrelevant really, as it could vary depending on how thoroughly it drained.
The important thing is that it needs to be up to the top of the dipstick markings but not over.

If you changed the filter at the same time it should not be a problem. Just remember to check it when cold on the dipstick and ensure its upto the upper mark...

As Kevin says 5.75 litres if your changing the filter as well :y
