I had a clunking / knocking sound every time I was going over a bump. Changed the drop links yesterday as one of them was bent, but I've noticed the sound is still present. Is it possible that I've damaged the parts that causes the knocking sound permanetly?
The links went in easily enough, and was wondering whether the reciving holes should really need encouraging to come together.
Thanks

No you should be able to push the drop links in by hand and then just tighten them up. Have you tightened them fully?

which side had gone?

My passenger side had gone. I'm sure they were fully tightened though.

I have just had similar .... changed droplinks and still had a slight knocking.... garaged changed track rod ends and steering idler and now knocking completely gone :y

Must agree there, the steering idler is probably the culprit. If not that then check your strut tops.Do yourself a favour though and fit the genuine article, not some aftermarket clone crap like I did and had to do it again 3 months later.

Always worth double double checking. I've just had a similar thing myself with changing wishbones and droplinks and still having a knocking. It turned out that i'd not quite fully tightened up one of the bolts on the drop links, couldn't move anything by hand but putting the spanner back on got me about another 3/4 of a turn on the nut and after that the knocking was no more.

The steering idler is next. track rods seem ok though.

also look at the rubber on that side on anti roll bar if the drop link was bent it could of damaged the rubber bush.
