Omega B.

Yours is a facelift, which is post 1999 design, although pre-facelifts where still registered in this time up to 2001

No such thing as an Omega C, details here:

All Vauxhall Omegas are Omega-Bs. No ifs or buts or other debates.

Opel Omega-As are Vauxhall Carltons.

GM never released an Omega-C

Agreed........... but some people (usually on eGay) use 'Omega C' as shorthand for Omega B facelift.

Mostly because 99% of eGay sellers are:

1) Stupid
2) Crooks
3) 1) & 2)

It's sad that 'mainstream' car makers have ceased to make a 'Flagship' model in their ranges, I mean there was the Vx Omega, Ford Scorpio, Nissan Maxima, Toyota Camry, Honda Legend (although there is still one of these @ £35K+) and probs many other models that have died out because the likes of beemers and mercs became 'affordable'. Ford bought out Jaguar and concentrated on that as their luxury model, Toyota brought in Lexus and tried to lift the image too. Sadly in the £20K plus bracket people would rather buy a basic beemer than a well-specced Vauxhall, even though the Omega could arguably give a 5-series a run for it's money. Just my 2-penneth worth.

I find it disappointing that manufacturers have virtually dropped all but the 4 door bog standard saloon & estate body styles. Vauxhall used to have a Royale saloon & coupe (Opel Senator & Monza). Ford used to have the Granada saloon & coupe, they even had a 2 door MKII saloon abroad that the UK didn't get. Car maker used to have country specific cars but now the same cars are seen in all countries. It's all about sharing designs & floor pans to make cars cheaper.
Citroen used to be quite radical in their designs, but now as part of the PSA group are just AN Other car maker.

Yep, and going back even further, I can remember Vx Crestas, Ford Zodiacs, Humber Hawks, Wolsley 6/110 and of course Citroen DS. No one would pay for such models from 'ordinary' manufacturers now, they are more interested in the 3 posh German brands or whatever Mr. Clarkson endorses.
I'm glad in a way that I feel enlightened enough to want a car which is easily affordable and not what may impress others.

Pretty sure Irmscher classed the facelift Omega as 'Omega C'.

There's nowt about omega on the current Irmscher website, but I once had all the Irmscher gumpf on a disc (from Irmscher) and that's where I'm fairly sure I saw it.
Also fairly sure LMF call it 'Omega C' because of that.

Now whether the facelift was going to be called the Omega C then dropped by GM, I don't know, but Irmscher would have been involved as the new car was designed..........

Since when did a body kit determine a whole new model?

There has never been an Omega C.

The facelift would never have been classed as a C, its still the same basic design as the B. It only had trim and body pannels changed.

The VectraB had several facelifts during its life, new body kits, new versions, new lights, but it never changed letters until a whole new model came out, the C.

Irmscher did. Idiots that they are.

Omega-B facelift was always going to be an Omega-B.  It is essentially the same car as the prefacelift

Seen Gm brake pads marked as "Omega A and B" on the box. Does that mean carlton takes the same pads?

I don't know - I'm only relaying information! :P

Was it just a body kit for the Omega that Irmscher had a hand in?
Maybe they helped design the facelift and GM dropped the "Omega C" tag.............like they did the Omega B from the Omega A, which utilises the same platform, just different body panels and trim and electrics..............

Indeed Turk.

Omega A - Carlton

Omega B - Omega

Completely different! - Omega shares more from the Senator than Carlton

The early 2.0 Omega's had the same discs and pads as the Carlton.
