Title: auto ox in 99t 2.5 v6

can somebody please help as my dash computer comes up with automatic gearbox now and again and when it does its like the car is stuck in either 2nd 3rd or 4th and its doing my head in. but if i turn the ignition off then start again its fine for a few days

any help would be much abliged thanks :y

It could be a variety of things, you need a code reader of sorts on it to ask it what's wrong. Not necessarily gearbox related. If you leave the throttle positioner off, it'll show the same thing .......  ::) ::) ;) ;) :y

cheers andy .is there anything i can check myself tho like the gearbox oil does it need to be hot or cold when i check that  :)
