can anyone help me pls iv changed the oil cooler but it was that bad the rad is complete blocked and its just boiling over the rad is stone cold and the car gets to temp but no hot air . if i put the cap on its starts to over heat any idea what to do next do i take the rad out and un block it .And is there anyway i can un block the matrix thanks any help pls.sorry its a v6 :(

first off, you don't need capitals for the title/subject :y
Secondly if it was driven with a failed oil cooler its quite likey the rad is buggered :(
Take the rad out, and fill with boiling water on a level flat surface, then feel around for cool spots. If it is badly blocked it will need replacing, and the cooling system will need a lot of flushing to get it back to normal. Talking 20+ times

As Tunnie says they take alot of flushing. If its a bad one I usually remove the rad, lay it flat and fill it with fernox and boiling water and leave it overnight but don't put fernox in your cooling system.

As tunnie says, you can use Fernox which is a Central Heating cleanout fluid which will probably work. If you are unable to get any then you could try draining the cooling system (bottom hose off is best) and flushing it with a running hose via the bottom hose filler neck with the Top hose off until the water is clear. That will reverse flush the radiator and drive any loose sediment out. Put the hoses back and refill the system with 2 litres of white vinegar and top off with water. Run until its hot then empty via the bottom hose again and the mixture should have disolved quite a lot more hard sediment, then repeat the reverse flush technique again until the water runs clear. Put it back together again and refill with plain water and test run it to see if it is working as it should. Long process but relatively cheap and effective inless the rad is totally buggered by the excessive use at some time of the dreaded RadWeld or StopLeak crap. Worked on mine so give it a shot, its way cheaper than a replacement rad!

It is also posible to remove the old oil using a "low suds" washing powder .. as oil is essentially grease ... this can take several goes but saves the dismantling that the fernox method requires.

Yep that worked for me - found most of the crud tended to accumulate in the header bottle - easy to remove and clean out - took about 6/7 goes to completely clear.
