Title: emission test for m o t

hello wonder if someone would help.i have a 2.5 omega. its failed m o t on emissions. its 6 points over ive been told. changed cats as they smelted like totton eggs. can anybody help me please by getting this down so it will go through the m o t :

Generally that is a sign they are on thier way out.

You may well be better posting in the Omega help section, this is just a test section for testing posting methods and pictures etc.

If JB is online could you or annother admin please move this thread and I will re edit my post to suit, Cheers.   :y :y

Was it idle, or fast idle it failed on?

Did you take it for an "Italian tune-up" (i.e. drive it like you've stolen it for a good 20-30mins, to make sure cats are warm) before test, especially if you drive mainly around town?

The cats need to be hot to gain maximum efficiency

Id probably start with the easy things...

run on high octane fuel / fuel cleaner addidtive / cataclean type stuff

good hot high revving run, and retest

have you checked for any fault codes with the paperclip test?

no sign of any misfire?

If its not been done recently, then an oil and filter change should make all the difference

Also, what temp does your engine run at.
