Title: heated washer jets

I've facelift cdx with supposedly heated washers but which ones  , the screen or the headlights. I'm only asking because there does not seem to be any warm water. I think it worked when I first got the car but after the head gaskets bein replaced etc , I dont think they are working now. How excactly are the jets heated ?

only the pipes leading to the jets are heated iic, by the time it leaves the jets it will be stone cold

i know the windscreen washer jets are heated there is wires going to the jets but i think they just de ice the jet ,does'nt heat the water thou i dont think the headlight washer's are thou  :)

It is only the screen washer jets and they are only heated when the rear screen is activated.
Theory is they have a small current running through them and stop the jets from freezing up...only problem is unless you have a good strong mixture of screen washer fluid the water will freeze long before it gets to the jets,and if really cold will then freeze on the cold screen.
All seems abit pointless,but you should be able to see if you have them fitted as wires will be visible,although they do have a tendancy to snap or corrode if the jets have been removed for replacing or bonnet repairs.

If you use undiluted screen wash in the washer bottle it won't freeze up anywhere - not in the bottle, or the pipes, or the screen.

You can go back to diluting it once the weather warms up.

Easy to tell if you have them - open bonnet, look at where washer tube goes from pollen filter area to bonnet, and see if there is an electrical connector.

All the heated system does is to keep the jets themselves ice free. It does not heat the water at all. The water should be kept up to strength with a good washer additive which also acts as an antifreeze for the washer water. DO NOT USE ordinary antifreeze in the washer system or it will be done for, and your paintwork too!GudLuk

Even with full strength winter screen wash the antifreeze element will tend to evaporate from the dribble of water in the washer jets.

The heater is just there to thaw out the the ice plug that forms in the washer jet.
