Title: engine cutting out
Post by: petes on 30 December 2009, 20:11:20
A couple of weeks ago (snowy weather) my 2.6 Auto miggy was ok for most of the day, then went on a very short journey. turned off the engine for a few minutes, then when I returned to the car the engine wouldn't start-turned over, but wouldn't start. got it started with a jump start, figured it was the battery so had new battery fitted next day. Today (rainy) went on a long journey, sitting in a queue (in drive) and the engine just cut out! Couldn't restart it, so pushed it with help-(thank you to the nice man who got soaked helping me!) to a parking space where about 10 mins later the engine started and I gingerly made it home.
Anyone else had a similar problem? Ta.

Do the pedal trick (see the link below) and post your results, my money is on the crank sensor ;) :y

Do the paperclip test and see if you get Fault Code 19. The Crankshaft sensor.
