When you say air con unit, do you mean under the bonnet, or inside the car?

Who would want to use the AirCon at this time of year? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
If it is inside it may just be condesation being dried off the heat exchanger matrix.

Air conditioning isn't just for keeping the car cold, I use mine all the time, saves having condenser problems.

We're going off topic, still need to find out where the steam is coming from.

The comment about the AirCon being used in this weather was a joke! Mine is on permanently too and I make full use of the Climate Control. All you can do is to get the inside of the car totally dried out, I use an electric fan heater for a few hours with the windows cracked open, and run the AirCon until it has had the time to dry off the heat exchanger matrix. That is not the condenser next to the coolant rad! Mine was like it for a good while after the heavy rains last year but did eventually clear. If you are not losing coolant then that is probably the problem.

"heat exchanger matrix"
where is that stuff located please?
I'm driving 2.2 CD Auto Xreg.
Have similar probs with AC (headgaske changed and since then AC's blowing only cold air :((( )

It is!

Yup, the condensor & dryer are hidden on V6, but you can see them on 4 pots, its inbetween the main cooling rad and cooling fans.
