Title: service intervals and what oil is best
Post by: peter19730 on 02 January 2010, 15:21:39
am just wondering what the service intervals are on my 99 2.5 and whether its best to upgrade the oil to fully synthetic. also just noticed that my rear n/side wheel seems to be at a slight inwards tilt in comparison to o/side which seems straight, any ideas

Offically, service intervals are 20k but that was just to please fleet managers.

Change the oil every 3-5k with GM 10/40 Semi Synth, its good stuff, and very well priced (£35 for 20L)

Not much point in fully synth GM V6 does not really warrent it, fully synth is designed for serious high performance engines, that rev very high, and need sustain higher temps.

In UK, GM 10/40 Semi is fine.  :y

Fresh oil every 3k as Tunnie says. GM semi is the way to go.

Wheel - has to be a bent arm/hub/assembly, as there is not that amount of adjustment in the rear for camber (on Omega, rear toe also can have a small affect on camber. No direct adjustment for camber)

Have you slid and curbed it in the snow and ice at all?

My rear wheels also have a very slight inward camber and front wheels are straight. I know it is a problem when you have a camber on the front.
