There is a fairly simple and cheap maintenance regime which must be adhered to.If it isnt they can be bloody troublesome. The engines are easily capable of 200,000 miles. If you stick around on here there is all the advice and help you will ever need to get it up to scratch and keep it that way.

got a 1997 2.5 'spanish'. about 240mls / tank (65 litres) about 21mpg on very short / slow journeys. On m/ways about 32mpg or about 400mls / tank.....I have never managed to get more than 65 litres in, nor ever achieved the dizzy highs the on board computer calculates. Use the old fashioned method.

I have the same car. Over last 3,000 miles with about 75% motorway, 20% rural and 5% town have averaged 28 to the gallon. Consider myself a very average driver i.e neither heavy nor light foot.

Hi Guys had teh omega the day as a test run , had it fur 2 hours, done probably25 miles motorway at 50mph cause o the snow, an 30mph or less in the side streets cause o the ice an we did probably around 10 miles. all in all 35miles,, an i have to say I think my tank volume dropped around 10 ltrs, would this be about right....and jumpin in it today, i was threw back when the owner said mind its rear wheel drive,,, but it has got traction control , an its an auto.
I didnt like the feeling at all pushin maself thru the snow, an even on the motorway feeling the rear swirm. and goin around corners in the small streets.
are their any of the omega range that has front wheel drive,, an whats the 2.5 tdi like on fuel an mpg.
the car is a 99 with 83k on it, belt has been changed at 57k,, engine is sweet, an also liooks good, the front bumper on the offside is hangin off a bit, an theres a lot of surface rust around the rear wheel arches, it has all the toys inside it, an runs sweet other than the mpg,
Now can you guys tell me what money would yous pay fur this or what do you think its worth ??? its MOT is only 3 months. it has a towbar.....thanks any feedback would be appreciated.. a`l not mention money myself, so as to put any thoughts in any reliers mind... an thanks. john

Why would you want a FWD Omega?? :-? :-? :-? :-? There's plenty of Vectra & Mudanes around if you want FWD! ;) ;)

Do you want to sell it???
I have a very sick 97 "English" and it averages 23mpg. Lots of short journeys and hardly ever gets above 70 mph.

is there any cheap cars in spain or is it take one from here?

Darth-Loo-Knee has got it right, I get round about the same results from a 2.5 Vs Elite auto with 160K on the clock. Must admit that they do not like to 'conserve any fuel' with a lead foot though!
